I have decided, however, that Vodka is important.

important enough to post about. So, vodka. Specifically some grey goose vodka poured into some jars with various things to make grey goose vodka plus.

This run we are making Grey Goose plus vanilla (which is actually all done now, and very very tasty) and Grey Goose plus Mango, which should be done right around the 4th of july.

so, i will leave you with this profound thought:

    vodka = yum

anyhow, had a great weekend here, had my first experience with real absinth. It's clear, not green, and holy FUCK is it strong. the stuff we were drinking was the actual 'Green Fairly' brand, and came in an unmarked glass bottle with a glass stopper, very bohemian. My new favorite place on the planet is a little vodka bar on Chapel street called 'Borsch, vodka and tears'. great food, large russian women serving tiny glasses of massively expensive and incredibly fabulous vodka.
Anyway, where was i? oh yes, the crushing drunk of the green fairy. so there we were, already on a first name basis with all the staff due to the six or seven shots of vodka we had already consumed when the bartender (a tall punk dude with full arm tatoos) was making some drinks for some other lucky patrons, and pulls out the unmarked glass bottle with the glass stopper and pours four water-clear glasses.
    'What is that?' i ask.
"green fairy" he smirks back at me.
"well.." already trashed at this point, "we better have one of those then"
two shots of the most potent alcohol plus wormwood later, we are becoming legends at the bar due to the fact that we are crazy americans tipping like mad and getting seriously pissed, the waitstaff start giving us free shots and doing shots with us. i dont even remember how much crazy vodkas we had that night. i do however remember the crushing hangover the next morning after stumbling home to pass out in my hotel room.

anyway, the sushi shot has absolutly nothing to do with vodka, and was taken on a nice lunch outing with the lovely and talented Shari, who goes to Uni out here in Melli, and so we will get to hang out quite a bit while I am down here.

ok, i have gone on for too long.

    peek a boo!
where the fuck have i been? it has been nearly a month since my last entry! holy shit time does fly. Anyhow, out of tamworth after three weeks with a long weekend stop in Sydney (so many stories there, how can sooo much happen in a four day period i ask you? not enough time to type it all here, but to give you a hint, there was a girl. (there is always a girl) and yes, an australian girl, and no not that one, a new one)
Then down to Melbourne where we started right off on Ghostrider. Looks like i will be here for about five weeks total and then who knows! There are rumours that we might slip over onto another film that is shooting here in melbourne or we might go back to sydney (where the girl is, ahhh... sydney.. ) so, there you go! in any case not back to the states until mid may-ish at the earliest (but I will probably convert my work visa to a tourist visa if there is a break in work in the states and stay here for longer to see more of ... Sydney ;-)

Oh, and although I have not been posting responses to all youses entries (cuz typing shit takes time and online time costs big cash out here) i have been reading them, so don't think i have vanished entirely :-)

    Sydney harbour
Well, all you crazy kids, it is that time of the year where I leave the country for a few months. I get to go hang out with hundreds, nay thousands, of hot girls with australian accents. wish me luck!
(oh, and I will try and update LJ, but I dont know whether we will have access on location or not, so they may be few and far between :-)

Oh, in case you are confused, I am going to Australia. First Sydney (well, locations near Sydney), for Superman. Then we fly to Melbourne to work on Ghostrider. It should keep me occupied for at least three months.

    cheers!

At first I thought that it would be kinda lame and a giant waste of taxpayer dollars. Come to find out that it was actually a really cool thing, and wandering around under the gates in central park is strangely happyifying. Something about the color and the wavy bits of fabric just seems to make all the onlookers smile.
Also, it turns out that the artist payed for the whole thing himself, and wold nto allow anyone to volunteer, he payed every single person who helped out, and all the stuff is made from recycled materials and will be industrially recycled after it's use. wow, cool!
also, this is being touted as the most photographed event EVER.
As of right now, on flickr (the 'ever' link) there are just over 1900 photos posted of the gates. holy crap.
Anyway, it will be up till the end of the month, you should all come out and see it ;-)

But it turns out, the general populace is kinda ugly, so none of those photos are worth a damn. I did however get this interesting series at bethesda and I photoshopped them all into one pic for your viewing enjoyment.

anyhow, it has been snowy here. they are calling it the blizzard of 05, but really we only got, like 12 - 18 inches here in the city, which by denver standards really only qualifies as a big storm. But, I had fun playing in the snow anyway. I went out last night between 2am and 4am, it was surreal, rarely do you get a chance to walk through new york city and have there be nobody around and no cars anywhere. and you can walk down the middle of the road. ( i did run into people in the village, but soho was a graveyard )

Instead, you get a photo from the weekend, when it was much warmer, and i could actually walk around with my camera in my hand without fear of never being able to remove it from my icy cold digits.

So, for your viewing pleasure: This is a shot of the fountain in Lincoln Center (by the Metropolitan Opera House).

    A Study in White Castle
Have you even been to a White Castle?

I had not, not until this saturday, when, on my way home I stumbled across one. Anyway, there is actually a whole story to it, but you are gonna have to click through to read it all since I don't want to re-post it here. (i am sooo lazy :-)

Well, my uber-nerdy custom panda tees arrived in the mail on friday. So, feel free to click through and see how nerdy they really are. (I like to think that they are geek-sheik, but what do i know?)

Anyway, as the catalyst to all that (it would seem) I will present my apologies to all those affected. I am sure that the reactiveness was already there, It would seem that all it took was just my presence (apparently I can make a pretty big splash :-) and all the various other reagents were able to react. (if I knew fuckall about chemistry I am sure I could make some very clever analogy here, but I cant, so I wont).
That said: here is yet another pic. taken last night on my way home from the Esperanto Cafe, which is my favorite all-night coffee house, where i spend many of my waking hours. It has been very wet here recently, and the cobble streets in SoHo look so very cool at night, and this photo doesn't really do them justice.

I always have to walk all the way back home and retrieve my camera. Much like earlier tonight, i was wandering down in the lower manhattan area (kinda near the brooklyn bridge) and the atmospherics were so amazing. I found myself in Foley Square (near the courthouse) just standing in the crisp chill air, looking at the ghostly images of windows hanging seemingly without support, like glowing doorways in the mist high above me. My breath, floating briefly visible in the still night. It was very nice. but of course, I did not have my camera with me, so I have to walk back to my place (which is really only about a ten minute walk, so not too bad really, and get my camera so I could come back and take some photos. so, there you go.

so i'm suppused to, like, write shit n stuff, yeah?
OK, well, i see that this is goign to be a slow and painful process. Not really being used to writing a journal of any sort.

    Ok, so here we go:

    oh yeah!

    right on!

    any time now, really.

    oh, fuck it.

Well, inspired by the concept behind the live journal, and, of couse, never satisfied, I nearly immedietly find this: flickr.com which caters to my need to anti-socialize by always being behind a camera. (and, also has a handy LJ type comment thing going on. so I am gong to simultaneously delve into the LJ world and the flickr world. This will give me something to write about. (i mean besides the obvious: oh, woe is me, australian girl troubles, et al)

anyway, i am now also a member of the flickr community with the same name, but there isn't anything up there just yet, chill!

gimme a few hours fer chrissakes..
